Independence Day Playlist

4th of July weekend is here. Time to come together, throw some burgers on the grill, and fire up some music that gets us excited to be Americans. Here are ten songs (in no particular order) we think are must-haves on your Independence Day Playlist. Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue : Regardless of if you like country music, if this song isn’t on your July 4th playlist, you might as well be Canadian. Party in the U.S.A. / Miley Cyrus : Need I say more? Iconic American song, if you don’t get it… you might be… old … jk…  American Kids / Kenny Chesney : Kenny is, was, and always will be a summer anthem Born in The U.S.A. / Bruce Springsteen : Everyone knows this masterpiece. Independence Day / Martina McBride : Nothing screams patriotism like 90’s country American Pie / Don McLean : A right of passage for Americans is to be able to recite American Pie American The Beautiful  / Ray Charles : Easily the most soulful rendition of this patriotic classic. Living in America / James Brown : A fun ode to some of the best elements of USA life, that is just about as 80’s as it gets. American Woman  / Lenny Kravitz : This one is a little interesting since it was originally written by the  British rock legends The Who as an anti-war protest song. However over the years it has been morphed and covered so much it began to take on a different feel. Screaming guitars, motorcycles, and a “don’t mess with me” attitude, makes it perfect for your 4th weekend playlist. Take Me Home Country Roads / John Denver : it’s hard not to be moved by this ode to the great wide-open spaces of this land.
