Subset's Eight Favorite Super Bowl LVIl Ads

Super Bowl LVII is officially in the books. And whether you were rooting for the Chiefs or the Eagles, or just a competitive contest, the other must-see attraction of the annual game happens between the plays on the gridiron: the commercials. Here are some of the Subset team's favorites (in no particular order).

The Farmer’s Dog  “Forever”

Rationale: Dogs will always capture attention. That is why this Farmer’s Dog commercial was top favorite this year. Who doesn’t  love when we get to see the world through the point of view of the dog.

Amazon “ Saving Sawyer”

Rationale: The second dog commercial to pull on the viewer’s heartstrings. A family's unruly dog tears up their house every time they leave him alone. When we see them on Amazon looking for a dog kennel, it almost seems like they're getting ready to give the dog away. But in the most heartwarming of twists, they aren't looking to take their dog to the shelter, instead they adopt a second dog to keep him company.

Crown Royal “Crown Royal x Super Bowl LVII”

Rationale: Who doesn’t love Dave Grohl? And for that matter, who doesn’t love Canada. The Foo Fighters frontman runs down the contributions of the Great White North, which crescendoed in thanking our northern neighbors for the very game we were all watching: football.

Bud Light “Hold Music”

Rationale: Nobody enjoys being on hold. But Miles Teller and his wife make the most out of it with an impromptu dance session. Bonus points to relatability as the tune seems to be the same hold music used by every company any of us have ever called.

Tubi “ Rabbit Holes”

Rationale: How does a brand, which is arguably the least known of all the new age streamers, get its name out there? Creepy bunnies. Creepy bunnies pulling the viewer into the Fox-owned streamer’s rabbit holes of content.

Tubi “Interface Interruption”

Rationale: Rabbits weren’t the only Tubi ad to capture attention. The pranksters pulled off the best gag of the big game, making it look like somebody had logged off the game and into the Tubi interface. If you can get millions of viewers to simultaneously look for their remotes… you win.

PopCorners “Breaking Bad”

Rationale: Arguably one of the greatest shows of all time. The PopCorners commercial  was hilarious and genius. Playing into nostalgia amongst Breaking Bad fans, we’re sure PopCorners sales (and Breaking Bad rewatches) will see a sizable spike since the airing of the commercial.

Avocados From Mexico “Garden of Eden”

Rationale: A funny spin on what would have happened if Eve had eaten an avocado instead of the other fruit. It was witty, funny, and had great graphics.
